"Hyperlipidemia or hyperlipemia refers to an abnormally high lipid concentration in serum or plasma. Normally hyperlipidemia occurs after ingesting a meal, especially a meal high in fat, but fasting hyperlipidemia is indicative of abnormal lipid metabolism."
